TriggrTrackrPrivacy Policy
Effective date: 1 July 2026
This policy covers what data TriggrTrackr collects, why, and your rights. It is written to be readable, not just legally compliant.
1. Who We Are
TriggrTrackr is an AI-powered stock event tracking service operated by Prometheon AB, a company registered in Sweden. Prometheon AB is the data controller for all personal data collected through this Service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data. If you have questions, contact us at info@triggrtrackr.com.
2. Data We Collect and Why
Account data
When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you set a display name, that is also stored. Legal basis: contract performance — we need this to create and manage your account.
Usage data
We store a daily search counter and the date of your last search to enforce tier limits (Free: 2/day, Premium: 10/day). This counter resets daily and contains no information about which stocks you searched. Legal basis: contract performance.
Watchlist
Stock symbols you save to your watchlist are stored against your account so they persist across sessions. You can delete any or all watchlist entries at any time from your profile. Legal basis: contract performance.
Seen-event state
To power the "What Changed" feature, we store a timestamp per user per stock symbol recording when you last viewed events for that stock. This is used solely to show you which events are new since your last visit. Legal basis: legitimate interest (improving the service experience).
IP addresses
We temporarily store a hashed representation of your IP address in a rate-limiting table to prevent abuse by unauthenticated users. These records carry an expiry timestamp and are automatically deleted after the rate-limit window closes (at most 24 hours). We do not log, profile, or associate IP addresses with registered accounts. Legal basis: legitimate interest (preventing abuse).
Search analytics
To power the "Popular today" trending feature, we record which stock symbols are searched. A one-way hash of your IP address (not the IP itself) is stored alongside the symbol and timestamp solely to count unique searches and prevent inflation by repeated queries from the same source. No raw IP address is stored. Records are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Legal basis: legitimate interest (providing a trending feature).
Preferences
Your theme preference (light/dark/system) and cookie consent choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
3. Analytics Data
If you accept cookies, we use PostHog (EU cloud) to collect anonymised usage analytics. This includes page views and in-app events such as which stock tickers are searched. Analytics data is not linked to your name or email address — it is associated only with a randomly generated device identifier. If you decline cookies, no analytics data is collected. Legal basis: consent.
4. Advertising
Free-tier users may see advertisements served by Google AdSense. If you accept cookies, Google may use advertising cookies to show personalised ads based on your interests. If you decline cookies, Google will show contextual ads only — no advertising profile is built. Paid subscribers (Premium and Unlimited) do not see ads. We also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure the performance of our own advertising campaigns — this tracks events such as sign-ups and subscription upgrades and is only active if you accept cookies. The Meta Pixel does not show ads to you on TriggrTrackr itself; it only helps us understand how effective our Meta/Facebook ads are at reaching new users. Legal basis: consent (for personalised ads and ad performance measurement). You can change your cookie preference at any time via the cookie banner at the bottom of the page.
5. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect payment card details directly — all payment processing is handled by Stripe (see Section 6). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
6. AI Processing
When you request stock event analysis, the text of publicly available press releases and news articles for that stock is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. This text is not personally identifiable — it contains only publicly available financial news. We do not send your name, email, or any account data to Anthropic. Anthropic's data processing is governed by their privacy policy and data processing agreements. AI-generated analysis results are cached in our database against the stock symbol (not your user account) to reduce repeated API calls.
7. Third-Party Services
Authentication and database
We use a third-party EU-based infrastructure provider for authentication and data storage. Your account data, watchlist, and usage data are stored on GDPR-compliant infrastructure within the European Union.
Analytics
We use PostHog (EU cloud, posthog.com) for usage analytics. Data is sent to PostHog's EU servers only if you have accepted cookies. PostHog processes data under a Data Processing Agreement and stores data within the European Union. You can review PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.
Advertising — Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements to free-tier users. If you accept cookies, Google may set advertising cookies and collect data about your browsing behaviour to serve personalised ads. If you decline cookies, only contextual ads are shown and no advertising data is collected. Google AdSense is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can manage your Google ad personalisation settings at adssettings.google.com.
Advertising — Meta Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel, operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram). If you accept cookies, the Pixel tracks certain events on our site — such as account creation and subscription upgrades — and reports them to Meta so we can understand how our ads perform. Meta may also use this data to show our ads to similar audiences. If you decline cookies, the Pixel is not loaded and no data is sent to Meta. Meta's data practices are governed by Meta's Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can manage your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences.
Payments
We use Stripe, Inc. as our payment processor. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects and stores your payment card details, billing name, and billing address directly — we never see or store your full card number. We receive from Stripe only a customer ID, subscription status, and the last four digits of your card for display purposes. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1 and processes data under a Data Processing Agreement. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Sign in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive from Google your email address, display name, and profile picture URL. We do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data. This data is stored as part of your account profile and is subject to the same retention rules as all account data (see Section 8). You can disconnect Google sign-in and permanently delete your account via Profile > Account. Google's handling of your data during sign-in is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Market data
Stock prices and press releases are fetched from public financial data sources. No personal data is transmitted in these requests.
AI analysis
Press release text is sent to a third-party AI provider for analysis. No personal data is included in these requests — only publicly available financial news text.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, watchlist, and seen-event records — is permanently deleted immediately. Rate-limit records expire automatically within 24 hours. Cached AI analysis results are retained indefinitely as they are not linked to any user account and contain no personal data.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights: (a) Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. (b) Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data. (c) Erasure — delete your account and all associated data via Profile > Account, or by contacting us. (d) Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format. (e) Restriction — ask us to limit processing of your data. (f) Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any right, contact us at info@triggrtrackr.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Cookies
TriggrTrackr uses four categories of cookies. Functional cookies keep you logged in and are always active — they are strictly necessary for the Service to work. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are set only if you accept cookies via the banner — they measure usage and are not used for advertising. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are set only if you accept cookies — they allow Google to show personalised ads to free-tier users. Ad measurement cookies (Meta Pixel) are set only if you accept cookies — they track conversion events such as sign-ups and purchases to help us measure our advertising effectiveness on Meta platforms. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which will reset your cookie preference and disable all non-essential cookies immediately.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves — for example, when new third-party services are added. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
